Working day

The Spanish Confederation of Professional Federations and Associations of Tour Guides has decided to focus its message this year on the occasion of the celebration of the International Day of the Tourist Guide, on 21 February, on the importance of tourism for society as a whole, its impact and its capacity to contribute to the conservation of heritage, natural resources and cultural traditions.

In Galicia, the Professional Association of Galician Tourist Guides (Apit-Galicia) joins this celebration by reflecting on the importance of tourism as an economic engine in our territory and calling for the professionalization of the guide and the implementation of a series of good practices that contribute to maintaining the balance between the reception capacity of a destination and the tourists who visit it.

Thus, under the hashtag #turismofilia, APIT-GALICIA wants to claim the importance of this sector and will do so again with free visits throughout the day of February 21 in eight points of Galicia: Santiago, A Coruña, Lugo, Ourense, Pontevedra, Vigo, Ferrol and Ribeira Sacra. Everything collected that day among the donations after the visits will be donated to an NGO.
