The educational offer of the Consellería de Cultura e Turismo is completed with English courses

During the month of May, the on-line training courses offered by the Xunta to professionals of the Galician tourist sector through the CSHG continue. A total of seven new free sessions are planned, including a discussion panel and six webinars. All those interested can register and obtain information about them through the Galician Tourism website.

The first session will take place on Thursday 7 May with a discussion panel focusing on the introduction to the Agenda 2030, as well as its implementation in tourism companies.

On Tuesday 12 May, Beatriz Estévez, professor of legislation at the CSHG and compliance officer, will be discussing the keys to the compliance profession, aimed at ensuring that companies comply with the regulations, and how they can be implemented in tourism companies. This session, which will be held at 11:00 a.m., has a maximum capacity of 150 people.

On 14 May, a webinar will be held focusing on the operation, viability and marketing of tourism products on different platforms, and on 19 May professionals will be able to participate in another session on hotel and catering preparation strategies for reopening, given by Jesús Rodríguez Maseda, director of Hotel Asset Management at Horwath HTL. This is an activity that aims to provide the necessary tools for an efficient configuration of the opening after the health crisis and in which a maximum of 200 people will be able to participate. The meeting will start at 11.00 am.

The training offer is completed with another three sessions. Two of them will focus on the design of the organic positioning strategy in search engines, which will be held on 26 and 28 May, and another on business strategies in social networks, on 9 June.

The range of courses available is being extended with new initiatives in languages. Specifically, a total of 100 places will be offered in four English for Tourism courses that will be developed online in collaboration with the British Centre. These are an English course for telephone assistance in tourism business, another for writing in a professional environment, another for customer service in tourism business and, finally, another for international tourism. They are courses with specific themes between levels B1 and B2.

Each of these training actions will have 25 places and will offer 26 hours of certification, including video tutorials in small groups. The registration period is now open and access will be by order of registration after verification of the requirements and level test.

In addition, the Regional Ministry of Culture and Tourism is also offering 100 places for the GESE 5-9 Trinity College certification exam, an official certification of levels B1 and B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. It includes the exam, as well as online orientation classes on the development of the test. The exams are scheduled to take place at the CSHG next fall and applicants must pay 25 euros in exam fees, as the Ministry of Culture and Tourism will assume 70% of the costs of this exam. Admission will be by order of registration after verification of the requirements prior to formalising registration on the Trinity College website.
