According to INE statistics collected average occupancy in the community for places exceeded 50%
According to data published by the INE in its Tourist situation for the July report, Galicia has increased the percentage of travelers and overnight stays in this month compared with the same period last year by 5.1% in the case of travelers, reaching the figure of 590,465 and 1,222,383 overnight stays, marking an increase of 12.2%. In the whole of Spain it has also returned to increase the number of travelers and overnight stays in July with 7.4% more passengers and 42.8 million overnight stays. In all these first seven months of the year, Galicia has received 2.28 million travelers.
This increase in the number of travelers and overnight stays has also been accompanied by a 5% rise in hotel prices this July, with a rate of change which stands at 5.02%, just two points below the national average.
Hotel billing
This increase will further enhance the profitability of the sector, since the average turnover of Galician hotels per occupied room (ADR) is 59.07 euros, well the national average of 93.2 euros still far from. Meanwhile the average revenue per available room (RevPAR), which is conditioned by the occupation registered in the hotel establishments amounted to 69.6 euros, an increase of 13.3% nationally. In Galicia this data has improved in July this year, up to reach 31.67 euros, 8.3% more than in the same period last year, but still far from the national figures, marking the average income of almost double.
Another data is also improved occupancy rate, which reaches 51.72% in the whole of Galicia establishments compared to 46.6% in the same period last year, and the average stay that it has increased to reach 2.07 days.
