The professional association of tourist guides is holding meetings with the different administrations to work on the recovery of the tourist sector

The Professional Association of Tourist Guides APIT Galicia draws attention to its group, one of the most affected by the #coronavirus pandemic, emphasizing that “tourist guides will be among the last to recover our regular work activity”. That is why from the beginning they are in continuous contact with the different administrations and entities linked to the tourism sector to work on the elaboration of the future protocols of health security in the sector, collaborating also with the ICTE, the Xunta, the Councils and town halls in the projects of reactivation and promotion of the tourism under the maxim that “together it will be easier to give back to the confidence to our tourists so that they visit us again, with all the guarantees”.

From this entity they also thank “the Secretary of State for Tourism and the Director of the Galician Tourism Agency for their mediation so that finally the mutual companies would recognize our ceasing of activity which would allow us to benefit from the aid provided for the self-employed and small businesses”. “Now we are in the phase of reconstruction of the economic fabric of the country and APIT-Galicia is collaborating with the Committee of the CEFAPIT (Spanish Federation of Tourist Guides) in the report requested by the Secretary of State in order to elaborate the health safety protocols in our sector.
