The Consellería de Sanidade has decided to establish measures and restrictions in the city councils of Ourense, Santiago, Santa Comba, Carballo and A Laracha, measures that involve limiting the capacity to 50% in commercial establishments, restaurants and hotels – where it will also be prohibited consumption at the bar -, limiting the maximum number of people in both private and public meetings set at a maximum of 10 people; as well as the reduction of capacity in celebrations, vigils and places of worship, in addition to the closure of day centers and residences, without forgetting the reduction of capacity in libraries, academies, driving schools and private centers of non-regulated education, among others. These measures, which will come into effect at midnight on Thursday, will be reviewed in a week’s time.
In addition, another of the new measures established will be the mandatory use of the mask in gyms, a measure that the clinical committee values to extend to the rest of the community.
It should be noted that, in the case of celebrations such as weddings, baptisms and communions, may not exceed 50% of the capacity of the banquet hall or the maximum number of 50 people for indoor and 100 people in the case of held in outdoor spaces, although this section of the rule will not come into force until next Monday, so it will not affect the events planned for this weekend.
The intention of Sanidade is to be able to act in a more selective way and with greater speed in the face of the appearance of cases in a specific area. That is why, in contrast to the measures adopted for the entire autonomous community since the beginning of the pandemic, it is now trying to limit the spread of the virus as much as possible, restricting and regulating certain activities no longer by health areas, but by town halls, cities or even neighborhoods.
The city councils of Lugo and Coruña maintain the current restrictions
Given the epidemiological situation, the Ministry of Health has decided to maintain the restrictive measures taken since last week in the City of Lugo. Similarly, the councils of A Coruña, Cambre, Culleredo, Oleiros and Arteixo, will also see extended the validity of the limitations established by Sanidade.
Abegondo, Bergondo, Carral and Sada see their restrictions lifted
Finally, and in view of the stable evolution of the data, the committee of health experts agreed to lift the limitations in the town councils of Abegondo, Bergondo, Carral and Sada, which from this very midnight will again adopt the same measures as the rest of the town councils in the health area of A Coruña.
