Turismo de Galicia has extended the deadline to March 2nd for applications for grants aimed at promoting sustainable mobility linked to wine tourism along the Galician Wine Routes. The measure, published in the Official Gazette of Galicia, is part of a program financed with NextGeneration EU funds within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, with a total investment of €4 million.
These grants aim to enhance the wine tourism experience by incorporating sustainable transport solutions, improving connectivity between resources, and promoting a more environmentally friendly tourism model.
The call for proposals is structured around four areas of intervention. The first line includes the installation of repair stations and charging points for bicycles and electric scooters, as well as landscape restoration projects in the areas where they are implemented. The second focuses on the acquisition of electric vehicles for loan to visitors. In addition, the development of a digital vehicle management system is planned, which will facilitate their operation and control. A fourth line is aimed at signage and communication of the experiences created around this new sustainable offering.
The grants are aimed at owners of tourist accommodation establishments and wineries located within the five Galician Designations of Origin (Monterrei, Rías Baixas, Ribeira Sacra, Ribeiro, and Valdeorras) that meet the established requirements and are registered in the Register of Tourism Businesses and Activities of the Xunta de Galicia (Regional Government of Galicia). The procedure is available on the electronic headquarters of the Xunta de Galicia, procedure code TU503K.
