The Paisaxe II and Isla de Ons campsites, and the Bosque Mar hotel, first winners of the Pontevedra Province Sustainable Tourism awards.
The president of the Cluster, Cesáreo Pardal, highlighted at the Tourism Gala of the Provincial Council of Pontevedra the good work of the sector and its economic and social importance.
The tourism sector of the province of Pontevedra met again last Friday to enjoy a day of celebration promoted by the Provincial Council and in which sustainability played a central role. The new edition of the Tourism Gala of the Provincial Council premiered the Pontevedra Province Sustainable Tourism Awards and did so with a recognition of the sector, which was also a boost for the Product Club Galicia Destino Sostible, created by this cluster in the middle of last year and which already includes about 70 companies from all over Galicia. Three of them were, precisely, the winners during the gala held at the Vigo Sea Auditory on Friday 10 with the new awards of the council: the Playa Paisaxe II camping, O Grove, which took the first award, the Isla de Ons camping, located on the island of the municipality of Bueu, which received the second, and Bosque Mar Hotel, O Grove, who won the third prize.
“The recognitions are an endorsement of good work and a revulsive to continue working with renewed illusions. So let’s celebrate today the road travelled and let’s continue tomorrow with new encouragement the route marked to continue being a tractor sector of the Galician economy, a sector that contributes to the improvement of its environment and the transmission of our culture and tradition, “said the president of the Cluster, Cesáreo Pardal, in his speech at the gala, which also took the opportunity to thank the work and collaboration of the Provincial Council of Pontevedra and also congratulate all the protagonists of the evening: “So my congratulations to the women artisans of the province named ambassadors of the Rías Baixas 2023 (Elena Ferro, Paula Ojea, Ana Tenorio, Marta Armada and Virginia Rodríguez); to the 165 companies from Pontevedra that will be awarded the SICTED diploma; and to the establishments that received awards in the first edition of the Pontevedra Province Sustainable Tourism Awards.”
“If every year this Gala is already a show, this year we wanted to give it all because the tourism sector deserves that we make a great recognition and appreciation for its commitment to excellence and improving care, but without ceasing to care for the territory and fighting for sustainability and against the overcrowding of our destination,” said the provincial president, Carmela Silva, during this celebration that brought together half a thousand people in the auditorium of Vigo and which did not miss the music, dance and audiovisual proposals.
