In order to improve the linguistic skills of the Galician tourism sector, the Cluster Turismo Galicia promotes the launch of the Galicia Friendly program, through which more than 300 companies in the Galician hospitality industry will improve their English language care thanks to a training program which will benefit the workers of the companies that take part in the program. In addition, the program includes a boost part of the marketing, through the preparation of the Galicia Friendly Guide and the delivery of a distinctive stamp of participation with use in the program.
“We are aware that the Galician tourism sector needs to continue to improve its training and professionalism so, with the support of the public administration, we are working to offer tools to help us in the process of modernizing and improving our business fabric, explained the president of the Cluster Tourism Galicia, Francisco González.
Financed by the Tourism of Galicia and formalized by the Provincial Association of Hospitality of A Coruña, the Provincial Association of Hospitality of Lugo, the Provincial Federation of Hospitality of Ourense, and the Provincial Federation of Hospitality of Pontevedra, Galicia Friendly will allow, ultimately, to improve the commercialization of the destination Galicia facilitating and improving the attention to the increasing number of tourists coming from outside our borders.
A guide for international promotion
Under the name “Galicia Friendly”, the program covers the four Galician provinces through the implementation of a training program to be developed between September and October this year. In addition to the training of its workers in the correct care of tourists in English, the program includes the promotion of the participating companies through the launch of the Galicia Friendly guide, which will be distributed in the main international fairs in which Galicia Destination is promoted.
The project also has a web http://galiciafriendly.es/, where not only the participating companies can be consulted but also a tab of the same with basic information of where it is, how to arrive and the last comments that have received . In addition, the locals that successfully participate in the project will have a hallmark, Galicia Friendly, which will be delivered at the end of the project.
The training offered by Galicia Friendly has begun this week in A Coruña, with the collaboration of the Provincial Association of Hoteliers of A Coruña, and will extend to the rest of provinces from the 18 of September, counting with the support of all the Provincial Associations of Hospitality of Galicia.
