The Xunta de Galicia will strengthen its commitment to wine tourism with a new aid program worth €3.5 million. The goal is to promote sustainable mobility around wineries by financing electric bicycles and scooters, installing charging stations, and promoting wine tourism activities.

The announcement was made during the visit of the President of the Xunta, Alfonso Rueda, to the A Terriña winery (Petín), a project of the Méndez-Rojo group. He was accompanied by the President of the Galician Tourism Cluster, Cesáreo Pardal, and the Director of Tourism of Galicia, Xosé Manuel Merelles.

The grants are part of the Galicia Territorial Wine Tourism Plan 2023-2025, which has already mobilized €11.5 million through various territorial cohesion initiatives for the development of new establishments and experiences linked to the world of wine. The initiative seeks to consolidate the role of wine tourism as a driver of economic and social development in rural Galicia, promoting a tourism model based on sustainability, quality, and local identity.

According to Rueda, this new line of grants is expected to be launched during the last quarter of the year.
