Turismo de Galicia has decided to double the offer of supervised internships in the offices that the Autonomous Community manages in A Coruña, Lugo, Ourense, Pontevedra and Vigo. It also offers for the first time a place in the Santiago airport office and offers a new exchange for research and analysis of tourist data. This is a total of 15 new exchanges, which is six more than in the previous call. This new distribution will mean that in the framework of the Xacobeo 2021 the Xunta will double next year the practical training in the offices of A Coruña, Lugo, Ourense, Pontevedra and Vigo and that will offer one more stock exchange than until now in the city of Santiago de Compostela.

The training programme will be developed over the years 2020 and 2021 and those interested will be able to access four exchanges to carry out supervised practices in Santiago de Compostela: one in the tourist office located in Mazarelos square, two in the office of the International Pilgrim Reception Centre, and, as a novelty, a exchange will also be offered for the tourist office of Santiago de Compostela airport.

From five months to a year

There will also be two bags for the tourist office of the Xunta in A Coruña, two in Lugo, two for Ourense, two in Pontevedra and two in Vigo. In all these cases, they will have a maximum duration of five months, with a planned incorporation in May 2020.

Together with these grants, the call will offer another in the Area of Studies in Tourism Research in Galicia. In this case, the duration would be one year, foreseeably from March 2020 to carry out research, processing and analysis of tourism data at the headquarters of Tourism of Galicia in Santiago de Compostela.

In all cases, the exchanges are aimed at professionals qualified from 1 January 2014, who, among other requirements, must accredit a knowledge of the Galician language at Celga 4 level and, in the case of tourist offices, also knowledge of the English language. Applications will be assessed on the basis of objective criteria established in the bases published in the DOG and will include a test of tourist knowledge in the case of tourist offices and a test of practical knowledge in the case of the stock exchange in the Area of Studies and Research.
