The commitment of the Xunta will mean an investment of more than half a million euros

With the goal of disseminating the tourism potential of the municipalities that make up the Galician geodestinos, the tourist areas delimited by the Xunta de Galicia, the department led by Roman Rodriguez has signed a total of 11 agreements with the representatives of geodestinos Ancares-Courel, Las Mariñas, Condado-Paradanta, Celanova-Baja Limia, Deza-Tabeirós, Manzaneda-Trevinca, O Ribeiro, Ría de Muros-Noia, Ría de Vigo and Bajo Miño, Terras de Santiago and Verín-Viana.

The aim of these agreements, which will involve an investment of more than half a million euros, is to carry out promotional activities in more than a hundred town halls in the four provinces included in the different geodestinos. In this sense Rodriguez highlighted the good rate of growth of the sector and its prospects for this summer, while stressing the commitment of the Xunta to continue collaborating in the value of a quiet, responsible and competitive tourism. In this line, the Minister recalled the importance of rural tourism, which this year grew by 10% compared to 2018 figures being the type of tourism that experienced greater growth.

In this sense, Roman Rodriguez stressed that the figure of the xeodestinos is “key” in the promotion of a tourism model based on specialization and improving the competitiveness of supply, diversification of tourist flows or the deseasonalization of demand, to make Galicia an attractive destination twelve months of the year.
