Galicia and the Mexican state of Guanajuato agree to collaborate in the tourist area

The Tourism Director of Galicia, Nava Castro, and the secretary of Tourism of the Mexican state of Guanajuato, Fernando Olivera, signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen the promotion of both destinations, an agreement that is part of the process of internationalization of the destination Galicia . “We are working to increase the number of visitors who visit us and we want to do so, basically, from the height of the foreign tourist,” said Nava Castro, recalling that the objective of the new Tourism Strategy is that in 2020 international tourism represents 33.3% of the total.

In this sense, and influencing this internationalization, the Director of Tourism of Galicia stressed the importance of signing agreements such as the one initialed today, through which the destinations of Galicia and Guanajuato will establish lines of collaboration in which they will carry out an exchange of information and material tour. In this way, it will promote the tourist destination of Galicia in the State of Guanajuato, just as Galicia will also promote this Mexican destination.

It was also agreed to develop a joint work plan for the deadlines associated with the different lines of work, as well as a report summarizing the work done and breaking down the resulting learning.
