It will be held on 16 and 17 September 2020 in a hybrid format and can be followed in person from Ourense or virtually from anywhere in the world, occupying the space left by the cancelled Termatalia.

After the cancellation of Termatalia 2020 caused by the world pandemic situation, the International Fair of Tourism of Health, Thermal and Wellness organizes the 1st International Congress on Water and Health to gather again the thermal community and to continue positioning itself as one of the biggest professional meeting points and one of the most important international forums of knowledge and specialized training in these sectors.

With the aim of defining the main axes around which the congress will revolve, the advisory committee of Termatalia met to work on the contents of a multidisciplinary event that addresses the future of the sector from the current situation.

This 1st Congress will be held on 16th and 17th September 2020, dates on which Termatalia is usually held every year, and will be organized in a hybrid format, that is, it will be possible to follow it in person by visiting the Expourense facilities, located in the thermal capital of Ourense, or to follow it on line through a virtual platform. The speakers of this congress, who will be recognized international professionals, will also participate in a mixed way.

Program and structure of the congress
The scientific program of this congress will address health tourism from a multidisciplinary perspective with special attention to the situation experienced by the sector in relation to the pandemic. For this purpose the congress will have a day oriented to the Tourism of Health in times of COVID, a scientific session on Medical Hydrology, Hydrogeology, Bottled Water and Health, another one on Tourism, Innovation and Sustainability and, finally, it will also count with experiences of the Thermal Cities. In short, the congress will have real cases and experiences that will deal with the safety protocols that are being applied in the sector and debate tables focused on the reactivation of the sector, on how to face the future with less uncertainty and how to reduce the economic impact.

Participation in this Congress will be free of charge by invitation from Termatalia or the entities collaborating with the fair. The registration form and the conference programme will be available in the coming weeks.
