The Spanish Patent and Trademark Office, under the Ministry of Energy, Tourism and Dixital Agenda, has just granted the registration of the trademark “O Camiño do Viño” to the Ruta do Viño do Ribeiro Association. “O Camiño do Viño” is an initiative of the Ribeiro Wine Route that aims to consolidate a generic brand in order to promote the territory of the Ribeiro region as an enotourist destination and become an umbrella brand that welcomes all the promotion of Ribeiro as an enotourist destination and as a historical wine region. In order to achieve this, the territory, the landscape, the cultural architectural resources and others such as thermalism are valued, using Ribeiro wine and the richness of its history as threads through a series of actions that are being carried out throughout the year, such as the diffusion through social networks and the publication of leaflets, videos and spots of the Ruta do Viño do Ribeiro, the theatrical presentation of the entry of wine into Santiago through the Puerta de Marazelos, the symposium organised this month around the historical trace of wine on the Camino de Santiago or the setting up of vineyards to cover the historical routes linked to the Ribeiro.
The final objective, according to the president of the Ribeiro Wine Route and CRDO Ribeiro, Juan Manuel Casares, is none other than “to awaken the memory of Galicia with respect to Ribeiro, a territory and a wine that for centuries was one of the economic engines of our land, and to value a rich material and immaterial heritage that at some point should be claimed” and is being developed together with the commitment to the recognition of the Ribeiro Miñoto Way; with the promotion of the figure of the Camino de los Arrieiros and even with the development of other actions such as the design of a route of cave presses in the Ribeiro.
