Fifty professionals receive practical training in Maceda to promote Galicia as a healthy destination

Maceda Castle hosted the second promotional action within the “Workshop on Marketing of Health and Medical Tourism in Galicia”, a showcooking aimed at professionals with the aim of raising their awareness of the role of healthy gastronomy as a key element in the construction of Galicia as a destination for health tourism. The chef from Ourense, Carlos Parra, was in charge of giving the workshop together with the nutritionist Adriana Fernández.

The three dishes prepared by Carlos Parra were analyzed in detail by nutritionist Adriana Fernández Vidal of El Taller. The three saluble recipes chosen by the chef were: “Cold tomato cream”; “Chickpea spring salad with avocado sauce and semi-cured goat cheese shavings” and “Vegetable stew with selected pork tenderloin tacos”. These dishes were marinated with Monterrei D.O. wines.

This initiative is part of the project that Expourense is executing with the collaboration of the Green Week Foundation of Galicia and the Provincial Federation of Hotel and Catering of Ourense and has been presented to the Contest of ideas launched by the Cluster of Tourism of Galicia with the support of the Xunta.

This showcooking was presented by the deputy director of Expourense, Emma González; the president of the Hospitality Federation of Ourense, Ovidio Fernández Ojea; the head of the Tourism Service of the Xunta de Galicia in Ourense, Cecilio Santalices; and the vice-president of the Ourense Provincial Council and councillor for Tourism of Ourense, Jorge Pumar.
