Since last week you can now use the Xunta’s tourist voucher. The vouchers can be exchanged in more than 400 Galician establishments (travel agencies, hotels, tourist apartments, tourist homes, tourism camps, rural tourism establishments and hostels consisting of a minimum stay of one night) and can enjoy up to 300 euros of discount.
Xosé Merelles, the director of Tourism of Galicia, and Ana Méndez, the managing director of Galicia Calidad, visited the O Semáforo hotel (establishment attached to the program and run by Jesús Picallo, vice president of the Galicia Tourism Cluster) to encourage all users to redeem their vouchers to enjoy Galicia outside of high season.
Another year, and it’s been 4, the campaign has turned out to be a success. 16,666 vouchers have been downloaded, selling out in just fifteen days. One of the new features this year has been that each user was able to download up to two bonuses.
Merelles recalled that this initiative manages to inject liquidity into companies in the Galician tourism sector and contributes to boosting activity in the medium and low season. “In these four years we put more than 47,000 bonds into circulation and mobilized more than 14 million euros,” he said.
Interested companies can join the initiative until December 24 through the bonoturismo.gal page.
