Among tour operators, journalists, prescribers and authorities, more than a hundred professionals from the tourism sector gathered last week at the Warsaw Ethnographic Museum, which hosted the institutional presentation of the Galicia destination. The event, which included the participation of up to 115 professionals, was organized in collaboration with the Xunta de Galicia, the OTS of Warsaw and the Spanish Embassy in Poland.
During the day, a professional workshop was held between Polish and Galician tourism entrepreneurs. In total, more than 70 Polish agents participated in the event, holding meetings with the heads of the Galician companies Galiwonders, Rutas Meigas, Pilgrim Travel, Viajes Interrías, and discovering the Galicia Destino Sostible brand, which also participated with the aim of publicizing the wide sustainable offer of the Galician community. The day ended with a cocktail and a musical performance by Xisco Feijóo.
The president of the Galician Tourism Cluster, Cesáreo Pardal, was accompanied at the event by, among other authorities, the Ambassador of Spain in Warsaw, Ramiro Fernández Bachiller; the Tourism Counselor of the Embassy, Claudio Andrade Lucena; and the manager of Tourism of Galicia, Antonio Casas. All authorities agreed on the importance of continuing international promotion in markets of interest to Galicia, such as Poland, which also has strong ties with the Camino de Santiago.
In recent times, Polish tourism has demonstrated its capacity for growth. So far this year, Galicia has already registered nearly 20,000 tourists from this country, and up to 120,000 overnight stays. These figures exceed those recorded last year during the same period by more than 35%. They are long-stay tourists, who are interested in making known all the tourist resources they have at their disposal linked to Galicia.
