One more year the solidarity event Estrellas en el Camino de Santiago returns, promoted by the Casa Barqueiro restaurant with the brothers Rogelio and Fran Rial Romarís at the helm. This time there will be 33 chefs of international prestige who will participate in the solidarity meal, accumulating a total of 72 Michelin stars.
Martín Berasategui, Jordi Cruz, Elena Arzak, Javi Olleros and Lucía Freitas are some of the chefs who will meet at Casa Barqueiro on June 5 to prepare a meal with Galician products. The guest cooks, in addition to preparing the solidarity menu, will also cover a section of the Camino de Santiago, discovering the cultural heritage of the Jacobean route.
The objective of this event is to value the Galician product and raise funds, in this case, for the Galician Association of Fragile X Syndrome. This rare disease is one of the leading causes of intellectual disability due to genetic inheritance, a condition that up to 80% of patients are unaware of having. With the aim of helping to give more visibility to the rare disease, all the benefits of the event will go to this association.
