The regulation of the Xunta aims to prevent fraudulent practices and unfair competition between the taxi sector and VTC vehicles.

The Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) contains the order regulating the identification marks of vehicles dedicated to the activity of leasing vehicles with driver (VTC) whose authorization is domiciled in Galicia and which will be mandatory from May in all VTC vehicles with licenses domiciled in Galicia within two months of the entry into force of this order.

The Xunta thus takes a further step in compliance with Law 4/2013 of 30 May on public passenger transport in Galician tourist vehicles, with the aim of ensuring the legal security of the taxi and VTC vehicle sectors, with the aim of ensuring the quality of service received by users and avoiding fraudulent practices, as well as unfair competition between the two groups.

In this sense, VTC vehicles will carry a badge consisting of a sticker on both the front and rear. The numbering and year appearing on the front sticker refers to the month and year in which the holder must proceed to the next visa of the authorising administrative title.

The markings shall be placed on the upper right side of the front window and on the lower left side of the rear window of the vehicle respectively in such a way that they are visible from the outside without in any case interfering with the visibility of the driver.

These identifications will be issued together with the granting of new VTC authorizations, replacement of vehicles, or periodic visa, after the payment of the corresponding fee, the proof of which must be presented through the forms in the electronic Headquarters of the Xunta or the application “SitranGestión”.
