On the occasion of the Celebration of the International Day of the Tourist Guide on February 21 APIT-Galicia organizes one more year a series of free visits in several of the Galician cities. Santiago, A Coruña, Ferrol, Lugo, Ourense and Vigo will thus commemorate this day on which it is also intended to strengthen and dignify the recognition that deserves this profession regulated by current legislation. This day, which commemorates the founding date of the World Federation of Tourist Guides Associations (WFTGA) created in 1985, also aims to remember the important work of the Tourist Guides as a fundamental part of the tourism sector. Under the motto “For a quality, accessible and sustainable tourism, trust in Official Guides”, the day has the support of several associations and collectives that are affected and struggle every day for a life and a tourism adapted to their needs. In each city several entities collaborate with the conference, besides Tourism of Galicia.

The visits will take place at the following locations and times:
Santiago de Compostela – (visit to the historical city) 12:00h. Departure from Plaza de las Platerías.
Santiago de Compostela – (visit to the cathedral) 16:30h. Departure from Plaza de las Platerías.
A Coruña – (visit to the old city) 11:30h. Departure from María Pita Square.
Ferrol – (Visit to Arsenal) 11:00h. Departure from Plaza Vieja.
Lugo – (Visit to the historical city) 11:00h. and 16:30h. Departure from the Plaza Mayor (City Hall support).
Ourense – (Visit to the historical city) 11:00h. Departure from the Municipal Tourist Office (Father Feijoo Gardens).
Ourense- (Visit to the Cathedral) 16h30. Departure from the Municipal Tourist Office (Father Feijoo Gardens).
Vigo – (Visit Pazo de Quiñones de León and gardens) 11:30h. Meeting point at the entrance of the Pazo.
Vigo – (Visit the historic city and enlarge). 17:00h. Departure from the Statue of the Bathing Man (r/ Cánovas de él Castillo, 22).
