Of these, 1.3 million were foreigners, which has meant that international tourism in Galicia has increased by 10% in the year as a whole, achieving one of the objectives established in the Comprehensive Tourism Plan 2013-2016, which Was to reach 1.25 million foreign tourists.

In general terms and in terms of occupation, Galicia improved its figures in all types of accommodation highlighting in this sense the camps with an increase of 3.6 percentage points and hotels and rural tourism establishments where the increases are close to the three points. With regard to the different tourist markets, national tourism increased its overnight stays by 9.0% and its passengers by 7.6% achieving – with around 3.2 million travelers and close to 7.1 million overnight stays – The highest figures for the last six years.

In relation to the types of accommodation, there were generalized increases in this period, highlighting the growth of tourist apartments that increased their overnight stays by 31.5%. Likewise, in rural tourism establishments the growth was 17.7% and in camp sites 15.3%.
