18 localities participate in the final of this initiative, in which users of the holiday rental platform have the final word

For the second consecutive year, the HomeAway vacation rental platform launches its contest for users to choose the best national family destinations in three categories, Coast, Urban and Rural. With this initiative, the platform seeks to highlight the excellent work done by Spanish municipalities to welcome families and guarantee them a memorable holiday.

The candidates for this distinction are 18, previously chosen through HomeAway’s social networks. Each of them has been chosen by HomeAway fans on their social networks because they meet six specific indicators that Spanish families consider fundamental when choosing their holiday destination, such as safety on the beach, the quality of sea water in the case of Costa destinations, cleaning and maintenance of the city, promenades, pedestrian areas, leisure and games in urban areas or safety in the area, first aid equipment or a peaceful immediate environment in the case of rural areas.

Galicia has two finalist destinations: Combarro in the category of Coast and A Coruña in the category of Urban destination, like Asturias, which places them in second place in the number of candidates, being Andalusia and Castilla y León the communities that accumulate a greater number of destinations among the finalists, with four each.

The choice of winners will be made by online voting through the website www.homeaway.es/lp/destinos-family-friendly-2019 until 27 May.
