As a result of the agreement between the Department of Culture and Tourism and the Galician Federation of Rural Tourism (Fegatur) it is now possible to make direct reservations in rural tourism establishments in Galicia through galiciaturismorural.es, which has just renewed its appearance by incorporating more resources and a booking engine with the offer of rural tourism in our territory.

The renewed service has begun with the establishments that have the booking engine of RuralGest and, gradually, will be incorporated the establishments that wish it and that are included in the REAT of the Xunta de Galicia under the code TR (rural inns, pazos and other singular buildings, rural houses, villages of rural tourism). Thus, in this first phase of the implementation of this e-commerce platform, travellers can already consult the availability of more than 175 rural tourism accommodations that are already loaded on the platform, which already had the RuralGest system enabled.

In a second phase, we will try to incorporate all the establishments that wish to integrate the booking engine for its commercialization through this platform that was born to give answer to an aspiration long awaited by the sector, that finally manages to materialize to integrate in the same place all the offer of this type of tourist lodgings in Galicia.

The commitment to this platform also responds to the commitment to measure 25 of the Tourism Sector Reactivation Plan in the face of the effects of the Covid-19 with which the Xunt de Galicia seeks to improve competitiveness and innovation for the promotion of online platforms for the commercialisation of tourist experiences. Within this framework, Fegatur proposed the creation of an e-commerce platform for Galician rural tourism for all those registered establishments that are now beginning to see the light of day.

Thus, the information and the tourist offer of the geodestines of our land will be linked to the establishments, contributing an integrating vision of the rural tourism and doing of it the ideal alternative for the traveller in the current sanitary conjuncture for sure, personalized, next to the natural environments and without agglomerations, something so demanded now. In addition, the platform seeks to expand the range of accommodation included with a view to autumn, a season that is particularly important for this sector, which at that time welcomes a large number of travellers attracted by wine tourism, gastronomy and nature.
