Through an agreement signed with FEGATUR, an online booking platform will be created, in addition to encouraging consumption with vouchers and promoting health and hygiene training

Xunta de Galicia and the Galician Federation of Rural Tourism (FEGATUR) have signed an agreement for nearly 200,000 euros, a measure that joins the amounts that the Xunta has granted to the 192 municipalities that are beneficiaries of aid for the enhancement of historical and landscape wealth of the rural. Both measures amount to nearly 4.4 million euros.

The agreements signed with FEGATUR include actions for online marketing, with reservations through a platform that includes a booking engine and a website that offers information on the 555 rural tourism establishments in Galicia that are registered in the Register of Tourist Companies and Activities (REAT).

In addition, the aim is to encourage travellers to extend their stays in this type of establishment with 4,800 vouchers for complementary tourist experiences in the towns and villages of Galicia. These activities will be given by tourist guides, active tourism companies, tourist wineries, restaurants, craftsmen, museums and facilities, thus allowing to reactivate the whole tourist value chain.

Rural tourism, strategic in the new scenario
In addition, the agreement with FEGATUR includes aid to promote the training of professionals in this subsector in health and hygiene matters, encouraging the implementation of health and hygiene measures and training to prepare for the new scenario that places this type of establishment among the most highly valued, bringing together some of the elements most appreciated by users in the post-coronavirus context, such as tranquillity, nature and landscape.
