The grants are mainly aimed at freelancers, small businesses, travel agencies and tourism for congresses and events

 

The Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) published throughout the month of February 7 calls for grants to companies and workers in tourism and hospitality, as well as to other activities affected by the pandemic, to which a total budget of 89.75 million euros.

The main compensation lines are aimed at the self-employed and micro-companies in the sectors affected by the measures, with 60 million, of which 30 are for self-employed workers and another 30 for micro-companies. As already happened in the 2020 planning, there will be a specific line for hospitality establishments that have been forced to close, endowed with 15 million euros. The hospitality industry, in addition, will be able to access aid for the installation of terraces and place orders at home for imports of 7 million euros.

Travel agencies can access subsidies amounting to 8.2 million euros, both for the performance of their own activity or the payment of mandatory insurance, as well as for the maintenance of their establishments.

On the other hand, a line of aid has also been established for tourism events for meetings and congresses (MICE) with an endowment of 650,000 euros.

In practically all cases, the deadline for submitting applications is one month from the date of publication in the DOG.
