Axencia de Turismo de Galicia

In order to know the position of Galician travel agencies and adopting a common position in relation to the implementation of Directive European Directive 90/314 / EEC on package tours for the warranty to protect consumers during their trip possible insolvency travel agencies, industry representatives and the Galician Association of travel agencies, AGAVI, and Cluster Turismo de Galicia held a meeting with Tourism Galicia which was chaired by its director Competitiveness, José Luis Maestro.

During the meeting, the joint collaboration for immediate transposition of that directive as regards the guarantees in the event of bankruptcy or insolvency of travel agencies was agreed and what the new leadership of travels combined concerns published in the Official Journal in December. In addition, the encounter served to know different solutions adopted by Member States for the adoption of this directive and the position of Travel Agencies was heard to adopt a common position ahead of the forthcoming meeting with the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism . At that meeting the transpositions that have made the different autonomous communities facing effect adjustments and harmonization that benefits the industry and consumers themselves are addressed.
