Forty establishments of the city will participate in the thirteenth edition of the Lugo Tapas Competition, which will run from 1 to 17 September. The appointment will maintain the same prices of the last edition, from 1 to 3 euros depending on the cover and the final will be held on the weekend from 22 to 24. This was announced by the edila Culture, Tourism, Xuventude and Promotion of Lingua, Carmen Basadre; The Patron of the ICT Foundation, Álvaro Santos; And the president of the Provincial Association of Entrepreneurs of Hospitality and Tourism of Lugo (APEHL), Cheché Real. “Gastronomy, along with the three estates, is important for tourism in Lugo, and to recognize the city. Lugo is not only historical, cultural and green heritage, but also a gastronomic heritage, “said Carmen Basadre, who emphasized the ingredients that have consolidated both this event and the city itself as a gastronomic destination. The figures speak for themselves, as more than 32,000 tapas were sold last year.
Cheché Real stressed once again the solidarity side of the contest, as funds will be raised for the Food Bank through the donated funds by CRDO Ribeira Sacra. Likewise, the president of Apehl stressed that the popular jury will choose the winner of the contest, and a technical jury to the establishment that will represent Lugo in different contests. Among consumers who try and value the covers, and who also cover the brochure, will be drawn a trip of one week for two people and a weekend in a European city, also for two people.
