Finally, the tapa “A vaca mariña” of Mesón Colón was the winner of the Lugo Tapas Contest that has been held in recent weeks. This was announced by the Provincial Association of Hotel and Tourism Entrepreneurs of Lugo (Apehl) in an event that took place at the Centro Cultural Vello Cárcere and in which were present the president of the Apehl, Cheché Real, the councillor for Culture, Tourism, Youth and Promotion of the Language, Carmen Basadre, and the mayor of Lugo, Lara Méndez.
In addition, the decision of the technical jury, formed by Quique Rodríguez, José María Martínez Alonso and Constantino Iglesias Fernández, was also made public. The first prize went to the Arrocería Los Cachivaches, for the cover “Bonito ti!!!”; the second prize was awarded to Restaurante España, for “Boi roll con patacas bravas”; the third prize, to Mesón Colón, for “La vaca marina” (The sea cow).The best pairing with Estrella Galicia was won by Mesón Pulpería El Castillo with “Niño de Polbo”; the best pairing with D.O. Ribeira Sacra, O Cincuenta e seis with “Bacallau ao queixo”, and finally, there was an honourable mention for O Castor, for his proposal “Prato criollo”.
During the event, there was also a draw among all the voting coupons to know the winners of the trips, dinners and other watering, which will be available on the website www.eparacomerlugo.com
