Work in progress to host Termatalia Brasil 2018 at Foz de Iguaçu

The director of the fair, Alejandro Rubín Carballo, and the general director of Iguaçú Fund, Carlos Silva, signed in Foz de Iguaçú the document that will turn this city into the site of the next edition of the fair in America, to be held in 2018. With the signing of this agreement, the Termatalia Brasil 2018 project is officially launched, in which professionals from the thermal sector of some 30 countries are expected to participate.

This signing of the agreement was wrapped by important public and private agents of the Brazilian city of Foz de Iguaçú (State of Paraná) as the secretary of Tourism, Gilmar Piolla; The mayor of the city, Chico Brasileiro; and the Brazilian director of the Itaipú Binacional hydroelectric plant, Luiz Fernando Leone Viana.

The next edition of Termatalia in America will therefore take place in Foz de Iguazú on the usual dates of the fair (end of September, beginning of October) and will offer new opportunities for companies in Spain and Galicia, as well as Countries. It has been several editions that Brazil showed its interest in becoming the headquarters of Termatalia and, together with other countries, made its official postulation during Termatalia México 2016. Foz de Iguazú is the second destination chosen by foreigners who visit Brazil. It has a privileged location on the triple border of Brazil with Argentina and Paraguay (with which it shares the famous cataracts) and in the geographical center of Mercosur. The Destination Iguazú receives more than 5 million tourists a year, including those who visit the falls, the hydroelectric power station and those who participate in the events organized in it, as it is also a MICE destination (Meetings, Incentives, Conferencing , Exhibitions). Due to the strategic position it occupies, it becomes an accessible destination for Latin America and very attractive to other countries in other continents that want to participate as exhibitors or visitors of Termatalia Brasil 2018.

The choice of this venue will also serve to reinforce the presence of Brazil in Termatalia and to promote through it to Ourense and Galicia as thermal destinations. Spain is the fourth largest tourist destination in the country, with over 200 million inhabitants. According to Canadian Travel & Tourism, it is estimated that in 2018 the number of Brazilians traveling abroad will reach 11.3 million. On the other hand, Spain is the ninth country that emits tourists to Brazil.
