Ourense gets the best Galician tapa in 2017

The best tapa of Galicia 2017 is for Ourense, for Miguel González Quintela, chef of the Gastro-Bar Sanmiguel Restaurant in Ourense, author of the best tapa in Galicia, ‘Vieira de Autumn’, according to the professional jury that presided over the final gala held in The Hotel Monumento San Francisco in Santiago de Compostela. The other winners of the evening were Pablo Fuentes and Alberto González, from La Taberna de Estrella (Ferrol), who won the Public Prize.
In the contest the winners of the competitions competed in the seven Galician cities competed. The other finalists of this gala, which seeks to promote urban and gastronomic tourism, were Rubén González and Sergio Orge, from El Cafetín (Pontevedra); Chisco Jiménez and Xalo Muñiz, from the Taberna da Galera (A Coruña); Pablo Vila, of the Hotel Puerta del Camino (Santiago); Rafael Pérez Iglesias, from La Carpintería (Vigo), and Álvaro Villasante Armas from Paprica (Lugo).
The Tapas x Galicia contest, organized by Turismo de Galicia, seeks to consolidate the gastronomic appeal of Galicia as one of the great reasons to visit our territory, as expressed by the Director of Tourism of Galicia, Nava Castro, who emphasized that urban tourism and Gastronomic is a key element for the deseasonalization of Galicia.
