Under the program Smart Camiño, Turismo de Galicia just launched the mobile application, Camino de Santiago en Galicia, available for download on Android devices. This is an app that aims to provide real time all the information about each of the official itinerary of the Jacobean Route, accompanying and guiding pilgrims throughout his trip to Galicia.
Thus, the application offers information from official paths, Public Shelter Network (timetables, services, etc.), as well as culture and tourism resources of the territories for which run routes exclusively in Galicia.
Moreover, the digital platform has a service that enables augmented reality through a camera phone, view all points of interest located nearby. The application also features a “My Diary,” on the pilgrims can save the most important moments of the Way, through text notes and photographs, later, through the functionality of the portal “My experience” create your own digital book. The application is available in Galician, Spanish and English languages ​​and most of its functions can be used without mobile coverage.
