The call that has just been approved by the Council of the Xunta foresees subsidies of up to 90% of the total investment and a maximum of 150,000 euros.
They are aimed at establishments built before 1 January 2007 and may be applied for from the publication of the rules in the Official Journal of Galicia until 30 March 2023.
Galician tourist accommodation will be able to benefit from a new line of regional aid to improve their energy efficiency for a total amount of 7.8 million euros. The call, approved at the meeting of the Council of the Xunta on 1 December and published in in the Official Journal of Galicia on 2 December, is aimed at hotels, guesthouses, rural tourism establishments, tourist hostels and tourist flats, which will be able to finance up to 90% of the total investment and a maximum of 150,000 euros with these subsidies.
Access is open to small and medium-sized enterprises, whether private individuals or legal entities that own buildings intended for these uses, as well as companies that operate, lease or hold concessions for buildings intended for the same purpose. However, they must meet several requirements, such as being registered in the Xunta de Galicia’s Register of Tourism Companies and Activities. In addition, the actions must be carried out in complete buildings and provided that they were built before 1 January 2007. No more than one subsidy may be applied for per establishment.
The aid must be aimed at improving the energy efficiency of the thermal envelope, improving energy efficiency and the use of renewable energies in the thermal installations for heating, air conditioning, cooling, ventilation and domestic hot water, including the installation of heating and cooling networks powered by renewable energy sources and/or waste heat for tourist complexes with several buildings, as well as improving the energy efficiency of the lighting installations. In addition, eligible actions shall achieve a reduction of non-renewable primary energy consumption of 30 %, and the improvement of the overall energy performance of the building by at least one letter on the carbon dioxide emission scale, unless the building already has an A rating.
Applicants have until 30 March to submit their applications, as stated in the call published in the DOG.
