The annual call just opened by the Provincial Council is aimed at improving quality and competitiveness and the creation of new tourism products.
Management bodies, associations, associations of municipalities and tourist consortia with tax domicile in the province of A Coruña are the recipients of the annual call for grants for this 2022 that has just launched the Provincial Council of A Coruña with the aim of improving the quality, competitiveness and tourism activities, and encourage the creation of new products in the provincial territory. This year, the organisation has earmarked a total of 1,610,000 euros for this item, and beneficiaries will be able to receive up to 150,000 euros in subsidies.
The rules published a few days ago in the Official Gazette of the Province state that subsidies may be granted for actions to improve the quality of tourist services, with special emphasis on training plans. Also eligible for aid are promoters of tourist celebrations and events (with a minimum budget of 20,000 euros) that are capable of attracting visitors from outside the area of influence of the applicant entity, and those who design proposals to invigorate the territory with a permanent vocation and capacity to generate direct and indirect income in the sector.
Last year’s call for applications for these grants enabled 16 organisations to receive a little over 1,260,000 euros. Among the beneficiaries were from associations of municipalities around the English Way, the Ría de Muros-Noia Way and the Association of Development of the Ría de Muros-Noia, as well as the associations of municipalities such as Ferrol, Ordes and the Ría de Arousa-Zona Norte; the business associations Way of St. James to Fisterra Muxía-Solpor, de Camariñas Tourism Promotion and Development of Quality Tourism in the area of Ortegal, and other entities such as Costa da Morte Touristic Association C. M.A.T, Auga e Sal Sociocultural Association, Mariñas-Betanzos Rural Development Association and the Ulla-Tambre-Mandeo Rural Development Group, as well as the tourist management bodies of the three cities of the province: Tourism and Congress Consortium of A Coruña, Incolsa of Santiago and the Ferrol Joint Tourism Society.
