The Ambassadors’ Night is an event held to promote MICE tourism (Meetings, Events, Incentives, Congresses and Exhibitions) in A Coruña.
“In 2024, a total of 44 conferences and events will be held in this city, with an estimated attendance of more than 100,000 people,” according to statements by the mayor, Inés Rey.
This event recognizes the professionals who help position this city as a reference destination for holding large-scale events.
The gala was attended by relevant figures from the business, medical, academic and cultural fields, as well as Gonzalo Castro, Councilor for Culture and Tourism, José Blanco, president of the Convention Bureau and Xosé Regueira, vice president of the Provincial Council of A Coruña.
Inés Rey assured that “A Coruña is a benchmark in MICE tourism thanks to the public-private support that we implement.” He also highlighted the great support of MICE tourism in the group of visitors that the city will receive this year, “A Coruña experienced one of its most successful summers”, with more than 660,000 people attending events with a direct and indirect economic impact of 89. 4 million euros.
Without a doubt, MICE is key to deseasonalizing tourism. And, to show all its potential, on October 3, Galicia Mice will be in Madrid for a day with workshops, gastronomy, music… The event will consist of a workshop between member companies of OPC Galicia with different societies and companies in the sector with interest in the organization of events and conferences in the province of A Coruña.
