The Cluster extends its collaboration with Expedia and Turespaña to promote the Galicia Sustainable Destination brand in the US market

  • Following the results of the campaign carried out last 2023, the Cluster is once again committed to international marketing actions to reach the markets of interest.

Throughout 2023, in collaboration with the Xunta de Galicia-Axencia Turismo de Galicia, the Cluster carried out various actions with the aim of consolidating the product club of the Galicia Sustainable Destination tourism brand, opening it to new companies and products, and betting on actions that encourage the commercialization of sustainable experiences. One of these actions was the cooperative campaign organized in collaboration with Turespaña, a type of actions that allows international marketing campaigns to be carried out effectively and efficiently.

 

In this way, between the months of September and November 2023, ‘Galicia Destino Sostible’ participated in a Co-Ops campaign aimed at the US market, with Expedia as a partner. A highlight of this collaboration was the positive economic impact: with an initial investment of €50,000 for the GDS tourism brand, promotional actions worth €150,000 were launched, adding the financial contribution of Turespaña and Expedia in equal parts.

 

The onsite campaign accumulated up to 2.7 million impressions, while the external campaign obtained 4 million impressions and 76% viewability (the visibility that ads obtain on the network). In addition, this action generated more than 1 million dollars in reservations to visit Galicia through specific points of sale during the campaign, with better performance during the months close to the summer season.

 

Following the positive results of this collaborative marketing action, during 2024 the Cluster will resume this collaboration with a new campaign that will run from May 1 to June 30, with the aim of continuing to promote the Galicia Sustainable Destination tourism brand in the international market.
