The Xacobeo Transfer service adds a new boat to link the town with Caminha.
Alda Hotels officially opens its new establishment in Santa Tegra mountain.
The town of A Guarda in Pontevedra has been in the news for the tourism sector twice with the launch of two new services during the long weekend of the Constitution and the Immaculate Conception that will help to improve the possibilities of transit and accommodation for travellers in general, and especially for those who travel the Portuguese Way of the Coast from the neighbouring country.
These are the main recipients of the new boat that from Monday, the 5th, reinforces the Xacobeo Transfer, the river transport service that since April this year crosses the waters of the Miño to facilitate the transit between Caminha and A Guarda. In these first months of operation, 7,000 users from 40 different countries have made use of the boat promoted by the Xunta de Galicia with the collaboration of the Galician Association of Nautical Activities (Agan+).
The new boat, inaugurated on Monday by the regional president, Alfonso Rueda, in an event in which the Galicia Tourism Cluster was represented by its vice-president, Jesús Picallo, has 12 seats, which will double the capacity of the service. And besides being sustainable offers very useful services for pilgrims as spaces for the transport of bicycles and backpacks.
During the same day on Monday 5 was also officially inaugurated the Hotel Alda Santa Tegra, an establishment located in an old building built decades ago and which has now undergone a thorough renovation and is located in a privileged location that gives it spectacular views of the Atlantic and the mouth of the river Minho.
