Under the slogan Love food not waste, the Consellería de Medio Ambiente in collaboration with the provincial associations of hotels and restaurants in Galicia promote the implementation of an initiative that seeks to reduce food waste in the Galician hotel sector. To this end, Medio Ambiente has signed a collaboration agreement with the four provincial associations – APEHL, Provincial association Hopitality of A Coruña, Feprohos and Federación de Hostelería de Ourense– to promote actions that promote a culture of reducing food waste, so customers will be offered the possibility of bringing food not consumed in the premises for later use in homes. This will provide the necessary support for the purchase of organic lunch boxes and bags, which must be biodegradable and reusable.
