Changes in the internal organization of Hospitality Compostela

With the aim of strengthening the entity once again and becoming a benchmark in the city, the Hospitality Association of Compostela has approved changes in its statutes, notably the establishment of a single presidency, the reduction of the board of directors And the suppression of the executive committee.
With these actions is intended to eliminate the tensions between Lodging and Restoration while at the same time want to form a more operative and resolutive entity. Thus, the new statutes establish a single presidency and vice presidency that will fall on representatives of the branches of Lodging and Restoration in a cyclical way, rotating every two years. The new positions will be decided in the elections that will be summoned after the summer, moment in which will also come into force the changes introduced in the statutes.
Another of the most important changes is the reduction of the board of directors, which will go from 24 members to 12, six representatives of Hospedaje and others from Restoration, a reduction that also led to the elimination of the executive committee, to avoid duplication. The materialization of the changes, which were introduced in the statutes before the summer, will not take place until new elections are convened. The two current presidents, Sara Santos (Hospedaje) and Antonio Riveiro (Restoration) indicated that the elections will be called after the summer, when the high season ends and the work is relaxed. Both are scheduled to run for election, as do other current representatives. Carlos Tardáguila said that in the current team there are many young people “eager to work for the sector”, and recalled that 90% of the partners are small companies.
