The 2nd edition of the Galicia Friendly programme to improve the language skills of Galician hoteliers has started

Framed in the collaboration agreement signed between the CTG and the Galician Tourism Agency for the promotion and marketing of Galicia as a tourist destination.
The main objective of the project is the articulation of a process to improve the image of the establishments and their linguistic skills in order to be able to attend to new foreign visitors.

The Galicia Friendly programme has been relaunched thanks to the impulse of the Galician Tourism Cluster in collaboration with the Galician Tourism Agency. This year it has been decided to carry out a totally personalized support to the tourist places of the community, through the accomplishment of an exhaustive analysis of their establishments, valuing the linguistic competences of their workers and communication supports, both on-line and off-line, to take care of the needs of the foreign tourists.
Thus, Galicia Friendly’s team of technicians will prepare the pertinent reports adapted to the needs of each company, in which they will guide their actions to promote the improvement in the attention to the foreign client. Added to this is the help offered to the local participants in the translation into English of their physical communication media, website and profile on social networks.

In this way, the establishments that comply with the stipulated requirements will obtain -or renew, in the case of those that already participated last year- the “Galicia Friendly” seal, which accredits their linguistic abilities in the attention in English to their clients.
In addition, the premises catalogued under the seal “Galicia Friendly” will be included again in a new edition of the guide of premises of the project, together with their contact details and address; this will allow that the tourists who arrive at the community know where they will be able to be taken care of in English language. The program will be extended during the next month, foreseeing its closing act for the middle of October with a ceremony of delivery of distinctive plates of the seal to the participating companies.
