The Official Journal of Galicia includes the publication of the conditions and application deadline of the potential beneficiaries of the Tourist Voucher, an action promoted by the initiative of the Cluster Tourism of Galicia, endowed with 5 million euros that seeks to inject liquidity in the companies of this industry, to promote domestic tourism, to encourage consumption and to promote the recovery of the economy and the business fabric of the Community in the face of the crisis of the covid-19. Interested parties may submit their application on a voluntary basis at the website until 30 November and it will be granted in order of registration until the corresponding credit is exhausted.
The Xunta foresees that the initiative will reach nearly 20,000 employees from the health and socio-health sectors who worked in the front line in the fight against covid-19. All those who are beneficiaries will receive a prepaid Abanca card with 250 euros, of a nominative nature, which can be used in the establishments or tourist products adhered to this program until December 13, with the aim of promoting the recovery and reactivation of the tourism sector immediately and until the end of 2020.
When the applicant is the beneficiary of the Tourist Voucher and once Abanca receives confirmation from the successful bidders, it will proceed to stamp the card and manage its delivery within a maximum of seven working days. However, the bank will provide an operational support telephone number where they will provide additional information on the operating conditions of the card and help in the event of loss or theft.
Wide range of services
The beneficiaries will be able to consult the offer of products and services included in the Tourist Voucher through the Galician Tourism website. Specifically, more than 250 accommodation establishments and travel agencies applied for membership of this programme, including almost all the Paradors in our Community, five and four star hotels and more than fifty travel agencies.
There are also more than twenty rural tourism establishments, spas and other unique sites such as lighthouses, pazos or maritime traffic lights, forming a quality and sustainable offer based on some of the main values of the Galician tourism model, such as food and wine, landscape or thermalism.
Among the options offered to the beneficiaries are tourist products or experiences that offer a minimum discount of 15% on the common price of the service, thus adding a bonus by the sector itself, and buy with the appropriate health and safety measures to ensure the safety of workers and users.
