A Coruña and Santiago host a group of hosted buyers from the MICE sector who will learn about their resources and meet with local businesspeople.

On Tuesday 12 will be held the Fiesta of the Sector MICE of Galicia, at the Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones de Galicia

The Galician Tourism Cluster, with the support of the Xunta de Galicia – Galician Tourism Agency, has organized a familiarization trip for hosted international buyers who will approach A Coruña and Santiago and participate in the MICE Sector Festival of Galicia, to be held in the Galician capital on Tuesday, November 12.

A total of 10 professionals from the United Kingdom, France, Portugal and other parts of Spain will arrive this Sunday 10 in A Coruña within the framework of the fam trip that has been promoted from the Galician tourism sector within the framework of the actions of the Galicia MICE project, promoted by the Cluster, with the aim of promoting the segment of meeting tourism, incentives, congresses and events. On the Galician side, some 50 professionals from fields such as event organisation, hotels, venues, restaurants, hostesses, animation, audiovisuals, catering, transfers, technological solutions, assemblies, etc. will take part in the working meetings.

The participants will start the fam trip on Monday in Palexco, where they will meet with local businessmen from the sector in a workshop, and then take a dramatised walk through the city with Sir John Moore and María Pita; and get closer to different locations such as EXPOCoruña, the Árbore da Veira restaurant or the MEGA Museum.

On Tuesday the working meetings will take place in the Cidade da Cultura, in Santiago de Compostela, where they will also visit the Hotel Oca Puerta del Camino; Hotel Spa Quinta da Agua; Nave 5 of the Mercado de Abastos; the Parador Hostal dos Reis Católicos and the Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones de Galicia, as well as completing a section of the Camino de Santiago and visiting the Pórtico da Gloria, in the Cathedral.

Festival of the MICE sector in Galicia

The Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones will host on Tuesday 12 the Fiesta del Sector MICE de Galicia, from 20.00 hours; a celebration and presentation in which the importance of this sector will be demanded and it will be possible to know data of its incidence in the Galician economy.

This event is the first time it has been held and all Galician companies and actors that participate, directly or indirectly, in this field are invited to it.

The Galicia MICE brand brings together Galician professionals in congress, meeting and incentive tourism. It is currently carrying out a study to diagnose the situation, increase its visibility and create a suitable framework for its expansion and improvement.
