Tourism data for the first half of 2025 is now available

  • Galicia consolidates sustainable growth and a trend toward deseasonalization

Data published last week by the National Institute of Statistics (INE) confirm the strength of tourism in Galicia during the first half of 2025. A total of 2,967,407 people visited the region between January and June, representing a 4.5% increase compared to the same period last year. Overnight stays also grew by 3.8%, reaching a total of 4,961,113 nights in tourist establishments. These figures translate into €165 million in revenue for the sector.

Another notable indicator is the growth of international tourism, which represents 39.6% of the total and increases by 5.5% compared to 2024. The main markets continue to be national (representing 57.6% between domestic tourism and the rest of the State) and key European countries such as the United Kingdom, Germany and France.

This sense, or behavior, in two traditionally less crowded months reflects a structural change: more and more people are visiting Galicia to see it, thanks to the authenticity of the destination, its nature, and its cultural and gastronomic offer.

  • The Gran Talaso Hotel Sanxenxo receives the Galicia Calidade seal

These data were presented by the Director of Tourism of Galicia, Xosé Manuel Merelles, during the presentation ceremony of the Galicia Calidade seal to the Gran Talaso Hotel Sanxenxo. The establishment became the only Galician thalasso to hold this seal, joining the Caldaria network of spas that already hold the certification.

The event was attended by the president of the Galicia Tourism Cluster, Cesáreo Pardal, and the manager of Galicia Calidade, Ana Méndez, who highlighted the hotel’s commitment to excellence and quality.

To date, Galicia Calidade certifies more than 170 companies and more than 880 products and services, including 52 linked to tourism, with representation in the hotel, restaurant, rural tourism, and nautical leisure sectors.
