Galician Tourism Presents Its Roadmap for 2025: Competitive, Sustainable, and Digital Tourism

On March 25, the President of the Galician Regional Government, Alfonso Rueda, presented the Galician Tourism Promotion Action Plan 2025, which will allocate more than €13 million to strengthening the sector’s internationalization, sustainability, and digitalization.

 

The event featured the participation of the President of the Galician Tourism Cluster, Cesáreo Pardal, who highlighted the importance of public-private collaboration to continue positioning Galicia in the global market. “We in the sector recognize and appreciate the constant efforts of public administrations. Their work has brought Galicia’s name to a growing number of markets, making our image as a leading destination stronger than ever,” Pardal emphasized.

 

Also present were the director of Axencia Turismo de Galicia, Xosé Manuel Merelles, not present; the managing director of Galicia Calidade, Ana Méndez Gil; Cluster spokesperson and Tee Travel director, Mar Rodríguez Meseguer; o president of APIT (Professional Association of Tourist Guides), Joaquín Rubal; The president and spokesperson of Unión Hostaleira Compostela, José Antonio Liñares.

 

A more sustainable and competitive tourism

 

The plan includes more than 130 actions in 30 international markets, with special attention to Europe, America and Asia. The initiatives include participation in 30 tourist fairs, the organization of press trips and family trips, and new actions linked to the Camiño de Santiago, as well as the installation of mouteiras in key cities.

 

Rueda emphasized the importance of strengthening Galicia’s competitiveness as a tourist destination, taking advantage of its rich landscape, culture, and gastronomy. In 2024, the region registered 8.3 million travelers, with a 6.7% increase in revenue and a 3.1% increase in employment.

 

The new plan seeks to consolidate Galicia in the global market with a more diversified and sustainable offering aligned with new tourism trends.
