With the preparations of the next Xacobeo 2021, the Tourist Trains could not but incorporate between their novelties for this year, a route by the Ways of Santiago. The route will cover four of the daily xacobean itineraries and will also serve to reinforce the Route of the Monasteries, begun last season, by including in this new itinerary “two important examples of the extensive and rich Galician monastic heritage, both closely linked to the xacobean pilgrimage routes”.
Thus, the new route seeks to encourage the discovery of “a large part of the Galician heritage through different sections of the English Way, the North Way, the French Way and the Primitive Way”: leaving the city of A Coruña (English Way) will approach the Mosteiro de Sobrado dos Monxes (North Way), the city of Lugo (Primitive Way) and the monastery of Samos (French Way).
The new edition of the Tourist Trains of Galicia will maintain present the already known Route of the Lighthouses, Pazos and Historical Gardens of Galicia, Route of the Lamprea, the Route Ourense Termal and Galician Versailles, the six tourist trains that cross the territories of each one of the five denominations of origin vitivinícolas (Monterrei, Rías Baixas, Ribeira Sacra -on both rivers, Sil and Miño-, O Ribeiro and Valdeorras), as well as the Route of Monasteries which, after last year’s success with 100% occupancy, will double its outings in this edition.
In total, the travellers will be able to enjoy in this edition of up to 12 different thematic itineraries, that will make a total of 57 departures between the months of June and October and that add up to more than 16,000 kilometers of crossed by the four provinces.
