For the seventh consecutive edition, Tourism of Galicia presented the ornithological resources with which it counts the territory in the International Fair of Ornithology, FIO, the most important ornithological tourism contest of Spain, held last weekend in the National Park of Monfragüe, Cáceres.
In addition to having its own exhibitor, Turismo de Galicia participated in different working meetings with the specialized operators and other informative meetings to promote the natural parks of the Galician Community as well as the 10 areas identified as the best of the areas of high interest Ornithological: Stake of Bares and O Barqueiro; Ría de Ortigueira y Ladrido; Coast of the Death; Ons-O Grove Complex; Wetlands of the Earth Tea; Montes de Cervantes (Os Ancares); Ribeira Sacra Sur (Canyon of the Sil), Serra da Enciña da Lastra; The Limia; Oímbra, Monterrei and Verín.
Parallel to the fair activity, a program of activities was also developed for visitors and exhibitors, technical conferences and a working meeting with specialized tour operators. Organized by the Junta de Extremadura, the FIO competition is considered the most important of its kind in southern Europe. It is a must for all specialists and amateurs of ornithology in Spain.
