As part of the Strategic Plan for Xacobeo 2021, the Xunta has just approved a new line of grants aimed at organising congresses, seminars or conventions aimed at promoting this type of event in the Community, taking advantage of the multicultural nature of the celebration. It can be requested by universities, public research bodies, professional associations, non-profit organisations or personal companies that specifically promote congresses, meetings, technical conferences, events, presentations or incentives.

Subsidised activities must take place between 1 September 2019 and 30 September 2020. The aim of this line of aid is to encourage the implementation of this type of event, focusing on reflection and the exchange of ideas, contributing to the deseasonalization and internationalization of the Galician tourist offer with a view to Xacobeo 21.

Criteria such as the type of congress, event or meeting, its geographical scope, the number of attendees and the month of celebration, as well as the proposed complementary activities, among others, will be taken into account when granting the subsidy. The beneficiary entities will be able to obtain between 25,000 euros and 2,500 euros, depending on the points obtained. In addition, Turismo de Galicia will provide promotional material to the organizing entities beneficiaries until exhaustion of stocks. The deadline for submission of applications is open until 16 October.
