Last Tuesday, April 16, the Official Document of Galicia (DOG) published the regulatory bases for the granting of subsidies to projects driving the wine and gastronomy of Galicia, within the framework of the Territorial Plan of Wine and Gastronomy of Galicia, launched by the Galician Tourism Agency with Next Generation funds.
This new line of aid, endowed with €2.5 million, encourages the creation of new tourist accommodation and restaurant establishments to improve and expand services to visitors, while promoting tourism employment and seeking a positive impact on the economy. local.
The budget is divided into four eligible lines of action: line 1, creation of accommodation and restaurant infrastructure with sustainability and energy efficiency criteria, with a budget of €1,568,000; line 2, renewable energy systems and circular economy, with a budget of €400,000; line 3, digital projects linked to food and wine and tourism sustainability, with a budget of €150,000, and line 4, food and wine experiences, with a budget of €382,000. The related projects must amount to a minimum investment of €200,000 for all four lines of subsidy.
Small, medium and large companies that plan to make an investment to create a new tourist establishment in Galicia can be beneficiaries: from pensions to rural tourism establishments, hostels, campsites, restaurants, cafes or bars, among others.
They must be long-term driving projects, contributing to the green transition, job creation, tourism sustainability of the destination, and the enhancement of Galician food and wine. In addition, it must be accompanied by the implementation of food and wine experiences such as visits to origin that highlight the process of creating the raw material, its care, collection, processing, elaboration; as well as interactive cooking or showcooking experiences, tastings and tastings.
Interested companies can submit their applications until August 16 at 11:59 p.m., through the electronic headquarters of the Xunta de Galicia, procedure code TU503J. The aid is presented by simple concurrence, so that requests that meet the criteria are attended to in order of arrival. Companies must have, among their main products, at least one product that has the Protected Designation of Origin of Galicia, the Protected Geographical Indication of Galicia, the Viños da Terra certification, or that have the Galicia Calidade destination seal. In addition to this, they will also have to meet two of the following conditions: creation of a minimum of five direct jobs, creation of links with public and private agents in the territory or other sectors of activity and contribution to tourism sustainability, with new management formulas (use of local or ecological products, implementation of recycling formulas…) or with environmental activity or awareness programs.
Aid to promote gastronomic and wine tourism
With the aim of promoting gastronomic and wine tourism, the Xunta de Galicia already launched a call at the beginning of the year with three different lines of aid, and the deadline for submitting applications ends on June 19 at 11:59 p.m.
