The Official Gazette of Galicia published last Wednesday, July 5, the regulatory bases for the granting of subsidies of the Galician Tourism Agency for the promotion of digitization in the tourism sector. The non-competitive grants have a budget of €1.5 million.
The objective of this line of aid is to contribute to the competitiveness of tourist accommodation companies, restaurants and travel agencies, promoting their technological development and the digital transformation process in the sector, to promote Galicia as a tourist destination.
Eligible expenses are considered those incurred by the applicant between January 1 and November 15. The aid will subsidize expenses derived from the digital transformation, among which is the installation of new PMS (Property Management System) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), integration of current PMS and ERP, the installation of new CRM (Customer Relationship Management) , installation of a channel manager, installation of visualization tools, consultation and data analysis, implementation of booking engines, incorporation of systems and methodologies to reinforce data security, use of disruptive technologies (blockchain, virtual or augmented reality, big data and analysis-exploitation of data, sensorization and communication between machines, artificial intelligence).
In addition to this, it also subsidizes the costs of technological equipment and accommodation costs or cloud services necessary for the processes indicated above, and expenses derived from the creation of the product and/or commercialization of the tourist offer.
The amount of the subsidy will be 80% of the eligible investment, €15,000 per beneficiary. Therefore, the maximum aid to be received will be €12,000.
The beneficiaries of these aids are hotel establishments, tourism camps, rural tourism establishments, tourist apartments, tourist homes, tourist hostels, catering companies (restaurants, cafeterias and bars) and travel agencies.
The deadline for applications is one month from the day following the publication of the resolution in the Official Gazette of Galicia. Therefore, Monday, August 7, at 11:59 p.m., will be the last day of the term.
