Last Thursday, Galicia was positioned as a key destination for conference, event and incentive travel (MICE) tourism at the workshop held in Madrid. The event, organized by OPC Galicia in collaboration with Tourism of Galicia and the Provincial Council of A Coruña, took place in the Sala Platea and was attended by more than 100 professionals from the sector, who participated in various work tables and activities aimed at boost the community’s MICE tourism offer.
During the day, 14 Galician companies from sectors such as audiovisual, congress venues, and event organization, presented the opportunities that Galicia offers as a destination for business tourism. Attendees, including event agencies and conference organizers from all over the country, were able to learn up close about the growing offer of spaces and services that consolidate Galicia as a competitive destination in the MICE market.
Among the participants, Xosé Merelles, director of Tourism of Galicia, Ana Trevisani, president of OPC Galicia, Cesáreo Pardal, president of the Tourism Cluster of Galicia, and Jesús Picallo, vice president of the Tourism Cluster of Galicia, stood out. In his speech, Trevisani highlighted the growth of MICE tourism in Galicia, which already represents 13% of total tourism in the community. “Galicia is authentic, different, experiential. We know how to make everyone feel at home,” he said, underlining the importance of collaboration between companies to offer a high-quality service.
The Galicia MICE brand and its provincial counterpart Coruña MICE continue to gain relevance at the national level. Thanks to the diverse offer of spaces, the excellent connectivity and the professionalism of Galician companies, Galicia is consolidating itself as an attractive destination for corporate events and conferences, offering a unique and quality alternative for the MICE sector in Spain.
