The Galician hotel sector continues to consolidate its growth in 2025. According to the latest data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE), Galicia reached a new record in June, surpassing one million overnight stays in a single month for the first time.
In total, 1,011,613 nights were recorded, generated by 573,849 visitors, representing a 5% increase in tourist demand and a 7.5% increase in the number of travelers compared to the same month last year. In both cases, these increases are above the national averages, which were 2.1% and 3.3%, respectively.
This positive performance is also reflected in the economic results. In June alone, the sector generated €46.9 million, representing a 9.3% increase compared to June 2024.
In the first half of 2025, the nominal revenue of the Galician hotel sector reached €165.5 million, representing a 4.3% growth compared to the same period last year. These figures consolidate the positive trend that tourism has been showing in the region.
By market, 65% of demand corresponds to domestic tourism, with 45% of visitors coming from other autonomous communities and 20% from residents of Galicia. The international market represents 35% of the total and continues to rise, with a 10% growth compared to June 2024.
In a national context where many regions are experiencing moderate growth, Galicia is among the best-performing northern destinations, both in terms of tourist volume and overnight stays. It shares this prominent position with regions such as the Basque Country, Cantabria, La Rioja, and Navarre.
